Christopher Bart has over 30 years’ experience in the heritage building industry and is a licensed builder in both NSW and QLD. He started what went on to become a multi award winning successful heritage restoration company. While restoring these buildings he saw a need for a pre-purchase building inspector that actually understood the issues that can be found in older buildings.
This led to him creating this company, Forensic Building Consultants.
Christopher doesn’t just refer to Australian Standards and Building codes when doing his reports, he also looks at the causes of why the home is having issues and more importantly, Christopher can also see where home owners have tried to cover up and hide structural issues over the years.
He is recognised by various government departments for his expertise and has been called upon to inspect and scope projects and then pass the information on to architects and engineers to prepare for tenders. This has now led to Christopher providing a service for building disputes as an expert witness at NCAT (NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal) cases.
With all this expertise you know that you have the right person giving you advice on either the pre-purchase of your heritage home, conducting defects surveys and having a witness of his calibre in the event you need to attend court in building disputes.
